Highball Ballroom, January 22, 11:00 PM, Free admission
We thought the apocalypse would only come once. We were wrong. We’re speaking of Karaoke Apocalypse, of course, which was such a huge hit in November that we had to bring it back. Screw whatever that new 2012 film tells you. A Mayan calendar can’t compete with karaoke.
If you don’t know what Karaoke Apocalypse is all about, allow me to give you a vision into the world of live band karaoke. The Dead Motley Sex Maidens will shred as you take the stage and show off your skills as lead singer, singing some of the greatest metal, new wave and punk songs music lovers have ever heard. The last show brought us covers of Danzig, Billy Idol and Pat Benatar that brought the house down. Not literally, of course. That’d just hurt.
The Apocalypse starts at 11 p.m. and there’s no cover. Show up early and grab a signature drink or one of The Highball’s many beers on tap. After all, what’s a good karaoke performance without a few lifted spirits? For those about to rock on January 22nd, we salute you.

Hi,
Me and a group of guys are heading into Austin May 11 th and I was wondering if you guys still do the live band karaoke. We do an annual “man trip” once a year and saw this kind of thing in Chicago once. I googled it in Austin and your name popped up.
Thanks, Rodney

Hey Rodney,
We love Karaoke Apocalypse, and we hosted them about once a month. Unfortunately, they recently broke up, so they won’t be appearing on our events calendar any more.
However, we’ve got seven themed private karaoke rooms, so consider reserving one of those for your “man trip”!
